BLUE DOOR ARTIST ASSOCIATION MEMBERS VOLUNTEER REGISTRY
As of March 2011, all new and existing members of the Blue Door Artist Association will be required to volunteer for a minimum of nine hours a year. BDAA members may choose to work on a new or existing art project, exhibition or community outreach program. If this does not work for you, your will be asked to pay an additional membership fee of $100.00.
BDAA projects you can volunteer for:
- Exhibition Outreach – Organizing group exhibitions in outside venues throughout Westchester County
- Fundraising events or auctions for the Association and Gallery.
- Gallery Exhibitions - we need Curators to develop themes and organize shows at the Blue Door Gallery.
- Development of new and current outreach programs – This includes Yonkers RiverFest as well as new community outreach projects for children and seniors.
- Gallery Assistance – This includes distributing announcements and posters, installing artwork as well as receiving and cataloging work. At opening receptions, we need volunteers to set up refreshments and meet and greet artists and guests.
- Day-to-day tasks of the Gallery and Association – This includes simple office tasks. Anyone with computer and graphic arts skills could help out.
NOTE: If you are not sure what you would like to volunteer for, come to our next monthly Board meeting and meet and talk with other members. This will count as one of your volunteer hours. Meetings are held once a month on a weeknight at 6:30 at the Gallery.
We have developed a new web-site to track your volunteer interests and log your volunteer hours. Make sure to track your volunteer hours by using the log in the gallery or speaking to the gallery manager.
